What I'm Lovin' and Hating from NYFW-Part Deux

Only 1 day are a few more likes, dislikes, and sort ofs from my personal notes. Who/What I'm lovin' for Fall 2010 KAREN WALKER. Her down-to-earth comfort and style have always go hand in hand. Oversize sheepskin vests, shrunken wool boy-blazers, wallpaper-print velvet trench coats and jackets, and comfy herringbone car coats dominated the collection. Country chic colors of sand, navy, terra-cotta, and deep green. The models looked comfy and cozy in desert booties and chunky cable-knit beanies. ALTUZARRA. Altuzarra's fall collection was a mixture of Hollywood meets goth. The severely tailored tight all in one black leather with its course stitching and multiple belts and straps were wicked. Paired with black goat hair coats & lace up platforms has me wanting winter to come back to Florida NOW. Alexander Wang. Let me just say this out loud. I.LOVE.WANG. His designs are a work of art incorporating function and style in a unique blend all his own. This fall we are seeing the Wall Street banker look taken to new levels with sleek tailored suits, flashes of skin, high hemlines, and thick chunky thigh high socks. He has polished his school girl and is dressing her for the business world. He adds a touch of naughtiness with criss crossing straps across front in a bondage theme. L.A.M.B. Even though Gwen Stefani lost half her show in transit because of blizzard she still rocked the house in her signature sporty fierce styles. From the models Betty Page hairstyles to their signature ruby red lips, her futuristic 50's siren military style screamed out..."Buy me, buy me NOW woman." Who/What I'm Hating for Fall 2010 Betsey Johnson. Maybe I've just grown up. Maybe Betsey hasn't. But this collection wasn't doing it for me. I have always enjoyed Betsey's whimsical prints but the garish colors and juvenile prints of this collection reminded me of a 4 yr old boys pajama's. Who/What I'm On The Fence With: Erin Fetherston. Her collection was an eclectic mix of a bohemian- seventies rock 'n' roll spirit. Classic pleated dresses, wide flowing pants, sheer uber sexy blouses. Silk, velvet, dazzling vivid colors and the trendy neutrals of gray, silver, and black. But I really felt like I had seen this all before. Fashion Week is a time to SHINE, not to stick to what you already out there. Though I am SERIOUSLY loving those brown suede boots the models wore.
