Things That Caught My Eye

*From Chanel Spring 2011 Line
Black Swan not only scored at the box office, but the mega ballet thriller is also inspiring fashion. Look for tutu’s, delicate shredding, and dance inspired finery to be part of 2011’s Spring fashion lines.

Kim Kardashian debuted an unexpected hairstyle last week- cornrows.
Amazing. I mean, amazing at how completely different she looks. She look younger and well, tougher, with the new do. I wonder how long she’ll keep it.

I read 4 books over the weekend.
Killing Rocks by DD Barant
Secrets Of The Demon by Diana Rowland,
Wilder’s Mate by Moira Rogers
Senseless by Mary Burton.
All of the them FAB and well worth buying. I also re read the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. If you have not yet read this series all I can say it GO FORTH AND BUY NOW! They are fabuloso.

Are you one of those that are forever trying to tame your wild eyebrows? Well the word on the street is the HD Brow the way to go.

Predominately set in the UK (there is 1 salon in the US) HD Brow is a 7 step process that uses wax, threading, and dying to achieve the perfect brows. All I can say is OUCH!

Consumers Union, publisher of ShopSmart, tested more than 3,000 products and services for their January 2011 issue, to see how the items held up in lab settings and in real life. This year's list of 54 winners and 22 losers. These 10 products, including many as-seen-on-TV bargains, didn't make the cut.
Here are a couple from the “don’t buy list” that I was looking at to try:

Hamilton Beach Voice Activated Coffee Maker
Great concept-but if you don’t like your voice in the morning, chances are this coffee maker won’t either. Not only was voice activation spotty but you can’t even get a cuppa joe out of it normally. Now that’s just mean.

Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry sheets
Is it REALLY that hard to use regular detergent, regular fabric softener, and a dryer sheet? No it’s not. Testers say-bottled stuff works better.

Bed Intruder Video was the #1 watched independent video for 2010
I watched this for the first time last night and laughed my arse off.
“Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband ‘cause they raping everyone up in here.”

Have you seen the music video for Hide Your Kids? There was also a glee club who performed the song.

Mrs. Hanson / My House of Books said- I have not seen it but I am off to look. I can't believe it took me this long to watch the original.
