I'm reviewing Hot Blooded by Amanda Carlson at Smexybooks

Hot Blooded (Jessica McClain #2) by Amanda Carlson
Urban Fantasy
April 23, 2013
Orbit

It hasn’t been the best week for Jessica McClain.

Her mate has been kidnapped by a Goddess hell-bent on revenge — but Jessica is playing for keeps. Because she’s the only female werewolf in town…it comes with its own set of rules…and powers. Aided by two vamps, two loyal Pack members, and one very reluctant human, Jessica must rescue her man while coming to terms with what being a wolf really means.

All in a day’s work for a girl. (Goodreads)

Hot Blooded picks up where Full Blooded left off. Jessica McClain is now not only the female to be born into a pack in the last couple hundred of years, she’s also a full blooded werewolf who finds herself the subject of much supernatural interest as she is regarded as, “the evil apocalypse that will end their races.” When her mate, Rourke, is kidnapped by the evil goddess, Selene, Jessica finds herself making deals and robbing Peter to pay Paul in order to rescue Rourke and end Selene’s reign of terror once and for all.

Hot Blooded takes us back into Carlson’s highly energetic Urban Fantasy world of hot, sexy shapeshifters, nasty politically motivated supernatural factions, and now TWO prophecies that all revolve around the first female to be born into a wolf pack in hundreds of years-Jessica McClain.  Heavily character driven, Carlson continues to build upon the existing world we were first introduced to and brings in more characters who expand the arc and the present storyline, giving us clues to future books.
