Things that caught my eye 2/21/2011

moda-operandi-logo-text-index
Looking for the runways fashions now instead of 3 months from now? Well look no further. There’s a new player in town and their name is Moda Operandi. Set to launch in February, the exclusive, membership-only shopping site will instantly gratify and reward the fashion obsessed. Moda Operandi will feature collections from the likes of Calvin Klein, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Alexander Wang, Derek Lam, and many more for sale as early as 48 hours to a couple of days following their runway shows. Perhaps even more surprising, members can shop the entire collection - not simply what a department store’s buyers predict will be a hit for the season - and receive their purchases months before the clothes make it onto store racks. And, the best part is you get access to the designs before the designs have been replicated by certain high-street stores for the masses.

Marc Jacob’s fall fashion 2011 show cost $1 million to produce. That averages out to $1750.00 a second.

leviticus tattoo Why is this anti gay Leviticus tattoo extra absurd?
Why am I showing you this? Because the irony is so delish. See, this obviously anti gay and pious man tattooed a scripture on his arm. It’s a tattoo from Leviticus 18:22 reading “Thou shall not lie with a male as one does with a woman. It is an abomination.”
Why is this ironic you ask?
Because Leviticus also forbids tattooing. In the very next chapter. ”You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:28.

Everyone has used duct tape at one time or another. It is the universal “fit it all”. Lord knows I have removed warts (ewww…not me, don’t have warts), fixed a tortoise shell, and rigged a car window with it. I <3 duct tape. Here are some other clever uses for duct tape.

-Chastity belt
-Muzzle
-Patch some offending crack
-S&M
-Fix a broken u joint
-Repair a smashed pumpkin
-Make a sheet for your bed
-Home security system-tape up your windows and doors
-Beverage holder
-Handmade bumper stickers
-Handcuffs
-Hold your car hood shut
-Recover furniture
-Clothing
-Mute function for people

When The Brain Is Blank

It's happened. I have blogger's block. I have racked my brain since Sunday night and have nothing to talk about. It could be that I am incredibly busy. Could be because my hubs is on vaca and he has me stressed. *he won't shut up* It's not that I don't have anything to do because I do. I have over 50 items to photograph. Which translates to taking over 300 pictures. I have 2 book reviews to write for Smexy Books. I also have a book to read that I have been waiting a year and 1/2 to release. But guilt keeps me from sitting down to read it. We are currently waiting for my in laws to return from a 2 week cruise. They are stuck in Barcelona, Spain due to the volcano ash from Iceland. This translates to a VERY stressed kidlet who misses her grandparents. I want a new cell phone. Mine is 2 yrs old and is a dinosaur. It only rings half the time and forget the direct connect. I want a smartphone. I want a phone I can google, tweet, email, and download stupid apps on. I want this phone. The HTC Hero. But I'm with Sprint. According to Sprint I have to change my plan. Which is fine. But I'm on a family plan so they say I either have to separate all 3 phones and place on separate plans or upgrade to a family data plan. *THUD* Have you PRICED those family data plans? We are talking $200 a month. That makes me sad. And mad. So that is my life right now. Hopefully I can get myself together, get over this hump, and pull myself together. Until then, I hope you enjoy my disjointed rambling posts.
