Living in Florida I normally wear sweaters and coat about 2 weeks out of the year.
However this winter is has been un naturally cold. Even for Florida.
Temps have dropped to record lows for weeks at a time.
I have learned that I cannot handle anything under 50 degrees.
Seriously, I'm freezing here folks.
I go to bed in flannel pajamas with socks. I'm buried under 2 quilts and a heating blanket.
My poor husband is dropping weight because I'm smothering him at night.
So I decided I want a Snuggie.
Yup. I want to look like a complete dork. But I'll be a warm dork and that's all that matters.
As I was searching for Snuggies I didn't realize the extent of Snuggie love.
We got plain snuggies.Designer snuggies.Team snuggies.We have friendship snuggies.Date night snuggies.
There are even Snuggie events. In Baltimore there is a Snuggie pub crawl.
Snuggies pub crawl Saturday in South Baltimore
There isn't enough bourbon in the world that could make me wear a Snuggie outdoors.
Weezer (the band) actually came out with a "wuggie". *giggle*
A "wuggie" is a Snuggie but with the bands name on it. Go to their site and they have all sorts of package deals including a wuggie and their new cd.
There are even entire websites DEVOTED to heart jerking letters extolling the virtues of Snuggies.

I never realized the extent of the Snuggie world until I saw this You Tube video.
HOLY CRAP! There is a Snuggie cult.
(some people need to get a life...seriously.)
And did you know that there is a Freedom Blanket and a Slanket to compete with the Snuggie?

I didn't and now I'm sorry I do. :(
I think after all of this I'm just going to sit with my ratty robe and flannel jammies.
This was all too much for me.
So I will stay Snuggie free for one more year. I'm sure the Fashion Police are thrilled. :)
