50 shades of leather

E.L. JAMES, the author of best-selling book Fifty Shades of Grey, has signed three different licensing deals with retail companies. Keen to capitalize further on the success of the best-selling trilogy, the writer has reportedly partnered with three relatively unknown apparel companies to release a selection of fetish-inspired fashion.

While we wait to see what the companies have in store for us, lets take a peek at what’s already available to get your designer freak on.

5 things for Monday

Fall is upon us and here are 5 top trends that should be on your “must have “ list.

Hail Victoria!

Sarah Burton sent dozens of royal looks down Alexander McQueen’s runway, while Giles built pleated collars atop black mourning gown. And now that Deyrolle, the legendary Paris taxidermy shop, is collaborating with Opening Ceremony.

Menswear 101

Forget boyfriend jeans and button-down shirts: This season’s borrow-from-the-boys trend demands a gifted tailor. Think rich black velvet, and don’t be afraid to accessorize with a floppy bow-tie collar and bowler hat.

Mod You Look

A ’60s vibe is seeping onto runways. To really nail the trend, channel the midcentury chic of Helen Gurley Brown, Cosmopolitan’s legendary editor-in-chief, whose neat skirts and proper pumps defined what a high-powered woman looked like in the early ‘60s.

Biker Chic

You don’t need a bike to wear this season’s biker trend. Leather is hot and this Fall you can go all out channeling you inner Easy Rider.

Mad For Plaid

When designers as diverse as Rag & Bone and Sonia Rykiel fill their runways with plaid, there’s a good chance you’ll want to give checks a chance come fall.
