I'm reviewing Wake Of The Bloody Angel by Alex Bledsoe at Smexybooks

Wake Of The Bloody Angel (Eddie LaCrosse #4) by Alex Bledsoe

Favorite Quote: “Oh, a bribe. With a harbor full of uncouth and barbaric sailors, no one’s thought to try that yet. My God, you’re brilliant.“

Eddie LaCrosse never thought bar owner Angelina would ever need his services, but he’s been wrong before. Twenty years ago, Angelina met and fell in love with a young sailor. He left her to seek his fortune and though he promised to return, he never did. No one knows what happened to Edward Tew, but Angelina now needs to know and has hired Eddie to find out.

Rumors are aplenty when it comes to the infamous pirate, Edward Tew and his ship,The Bloody Angel. Some say Edward is dead and he and his ship is buried at the bottom of the sea with a king’s ransom in gold. Others claim he runs his own private pirate paradise, while some even believe he commands a pirate ghost ship with a damned crew. Either way, Eddie is being paid to find him and with a former pirate queen as his partner, Eddie will follow the clues to where ever they may lead.

Alec Bledsoe’s Wake Of The Bloody Angel takes Investigator Eddie LaCrosse on the adventure of a lifetime; hunting down a mysterious pirate. Throw in a feisty former pirate as his partner and hints of buried treasure and we have an action packed, adventurous fantasy with sea monsters, ghost ships, and plenty of witty, dry humor.

I’m reviewing Even White Trash Zombies Get The Blues by Diana Rowland at Smexybooks

Even White Trash Zombies Get The Blues (White Trash Zombie #2 ) by Diana Rowland

Favorite Quote: “We’re all monsters here.”

Angel Crawford has been given a second chance at life as a member of the undead and she’s determined not to blow it. The former junkie and delinquent is now drug and crime free, has a great job with the coroner's office, and is dating hunky detective, Marcus Ivanov. But Angel’s been waiting for the other shoe to drop, and it drops with a BANG when bodies go missing and an old enemy starts hunting again. Toss in her probation officer, a secretive boyfriend, and an over zealous scientist and Angel knows she’s going to need all the brains she can get her hands on if she’s going to survive this time around.

Even White Trash Zombies Get The Blues is a wickedly funny, action packed, urban fantasy with a healthy dollop of romance and suspense. A romantic suspense...with zombies. I love Diana Rowland’s Kara Gillan series and expected nothing but fantastic things in here as well. I wasn’t disappointed. Rowland finds the perfect balance of macabre humor and realistic soul searching in here with heroine Angel Crawford. Angel was a complete screw up but when an accident turns her into a zombie, Angel grabs hold of her new found “life” with both hands. No longer compelled to try and self destruct, she has a great job and access to her much needed choice of food-brains. She has become more accepting of her condition, made friends, and she’s dating the man who gave her a new lease on life, detective Marcus Ivanov.

Favorite Quote: “You say you can see what lies within me, lady. Tell me I am not going to destroy the light.”

The Daemon Prism is the final installment of Berg’s complex renaissance based character driven trilogy, The Collegia Magica. It picks up not long after The Soul Mirror ends. Each book in this trilogy has been presented from one character’s viewpoint. The Spirit Lens was from Portier de Savin-Duplais,The Soul Mirror from Anne de Vernase, and our final journey is told from Dante, the catalyst in the whole series. Blinded and crippled after battling a vindictive enemy in The Soul Mirror, Dante is struggling to deal with the tremendous loss he feels he has suffered. Ms Berg’s wonderful use of prose makes Dante’s voice irresistible as he takes us on an incredulous journey fraught with mystery, intrigue, and fantasy.

Come Read My Review of Kismet’s Kiss by Cate Rowen at Smexybooks

Favorite Quote: “It will be the greatest agony I can bear. But the alternative is something I can’t bear at all.”

In the desert realm of Kad, a deadly epidemic has struck the palace of Sultan Kuramos. As the Royal family lies sick and close to death, only a magical healer from an enemy land may have the skill to save his household.

When Varene, the Royal Healer of Tergenne, is summoned to Kad she finds things are not as she thought.  She expects the sultan's arrogance, but not his courage or his selfless care of the ill. Kaddite culture condemns Varene's mystical talents and her presence triggers a plot to overthrow Kuramos. Yet as he and the healer toil for the cure, passion turns to love.

Kismet’s Kiss is an magical, exhilarating, sensual delight. Lush exotic world building, riveting storyline, and strong personable characters set the stage for a rich and captivating story filled with sultry romance, delicious humor, and tense suspense. A fascinating read that captured me at page one.
