Can’t Stop Believing (Harmony #6) by Jodi Thomas

Favorite Quote: “One heartbeat past forever, that’s how long I’ll love you.”
Welcome back.  Once again Ms. Thomas takes us back into Harmony, TX and submerges us in the lives and loves of this fictional town. In Can’t Stop Believing, we see the true meaning of forgiveness, second chances, and love.
Cord McDowell lost six years of his life when he went to prison at age eighteen for a crime he didn’t commit. Now, ten years later, he’s being asked to give up his freedom again. His last name for a piece of prime land.
Nevada Britain, Harmony’s premier wild child, needs Cord McDowell to marry her and offers up a 300 acres of land to sweeten the deal. She refuses to explain all the reasons why she needs him but Cord knows he’s getting the better end of the deal. He only has one condition. She has to sleep next to him every night while they are married.
As Cord and Nevada settle into their lives and pseudo marriage, Cord soon learns that Nevada’s reasons for wanting to marry him involve more than just saving her ranch. Someone wants Nevada to suffer for her choices in life. And if it takes her death to make her pay…so be it.
Ronnie never forgot Marty or the gifts he gave her, even after he disappeared from her life two years ago. When a mysterious man shows up and offers her a chance to see Marty again,  Ronnie begins the adventure of a lifetime. One that proves how wondrous and heartbreaking true love can be.
Jodi Thomas’s Harmony series remains one of my favorite romantic contemporary series to date. I adore the continuously evolving small town atmosphere and the eclectic characters who live there. Brimming with gossip, news of family, and well wishes; you find yourself waiting with anticipation for the next batch to arrive. A smoothly written romantic contemporary that goes beneath the facade of a small town and examines and reveals the love, laughter, pain, and heartbreak that resides within.

I’m reviewing Just Down The Road by Jodi Thomas at Smexybooks

Just Down the Road

Favorite Quote: “Your right, Sheriff, Noah’s got loose lips. It goes with his shifty eyes.“

In the 4th book of Jodi Thomas’s wonderful small town oriented series, Just Down The Road, we once again are submerged into the intricate relationships and the bonds that ties them together that make up the town of Harmony, Texas. Romance, friendship, and change all intertwine and revolve around one another as old and new friends try to live their lives in the best way they know how. Four main story lines unfold in here, each a study in the strength of the human heart and its capacity to love, learn, and forgive. While Regan still plays a dominate role in this heavy character driven series, other characters have wormed their way in to top spots and I find myself deeply vested in each and every one of them.

A heavy dose of mystery, suspense, and danger features more predominately in this installment then the previous ones, creating an addictive read that fills you with some strong emotions as you watch those you have come to love fight through the pitfalls of life. I love how human Ms. Thomas’s characters are. Not perfect or even pleasant at times, each one is a vibrant personality that takes command and dominates the scenes they are in. Each relationship is carefully cultivated and allowed to grow and bloom naturally. As with any garden, you may not see anything the first year, or maybe it will bloom hard and heavy only to die in the first frost. Either way, Ms. Thomas shows remarkable insight when she cultivates her garden and the results are a joy for all who are lucky enough to visit it.

Favorite Quote: “One word. His last wish. His last hope for her. Grow. “

Jodi Thomas's Harmony series is like receiving letters from home. Brimming with gossip, news of family, and well wishes; you find yourself waiting with anticipation for the next batch to arrive. A smoothly written romantic contemporary that goes beneath the facade of a small town and examines and reveals the love, laughter, pain, and heartbreak that resides within.

Favorite Quote:”Well if I’m not dead then you must have come to call, and I’d better tell you Tyler Wright, I’m to old for you and even if I was willing to take a chance with you I wouldn’t. You see, I kinda like being a widow. It’s easier to spell then divorcee and I don’t have to share the bathroom or remote with anyone.”

Welcome back to Harmony. It’s been a while since we’ve seen you. Come on down to the Blue Moon cafe and sit a spell. I’ll fill you in on everything that’s happened since your last visit.

My New Book Review Is At Smexy Books

This weeks review is Welcome To Harmony By Jodi Thomas.

Welcome to Harmony, TX. Population 14,003.

Go down Old Main road, not to be confused with New Main road, and stop at the Blue Moon. You've never been to Harmony till you've eaten at the Blue moon. Tell Edith I said,"hey." Wonderful woman-heart of a saint. Has to be to put up with her no account husband.

Look out the window; quick now. See that big dodge truck flying by? That belongs to Hank Matheson. He's the town's volunteer fire chief. He's heading over to the Buffalo Bar and Grill to break up a fight.  No, it's not his job, lol, but he's got to go get the sheriff. Alex McAllen, our town sheriff, is either drunk or brawling or both. She'll hate him in the morning for it but what can you do?

Well, well lookie there. See that little red head? Her name is Reagan Truman. Rumor has it she's old Miss Beverly Truman's grand daughter.  She's staying out at Jeremiah Truman's house. Now you want to meet an ornery old cuss? There you go. The boy next to her is Noah McAllen. Thick as thieves those two. He goes by the nickname of preacher. The Trumans and the McAllens are the Hatfields and McCoys of Harmony. People aren't sure what to think of this development. But that's another story for another time. Something is in the air though. Some changes are coming that may or may not be for the best. Only time will tell. So head on down to the bed and breakfast, grab a room and set awhile. We'll chat some more about the good folks of Harmony.
