Things that caught my eye

It’s COACHELLA time

The 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will be held April 15-17 at the Empire Polo Club, in Indio, California. Some of the headliners performing there are Kings Of Leon, The Strokes, Mumford and Sons, and Cee Lo Green.

Tickets were made available through a layaway program via the festival's official website. Ticketmaster began selling tickets on January 21, 2011. The event sold out in just five days. But rumor has it that if your search, you can still find tickets.

Vsmodels

Victoria's Secret model Candice Swanepoel came under scrutiny when she debuted the upcoming swimsuit collection with her fellow Victoria's Secret Angels this week at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles. As most Victoria Secret models contracts state they are to maintain a curvy and muscular physique, Ms. Swanepoel’s current editorial fashion mag look is being called into question. Rumors are swirling she could lose her contract if she doesn’t “beef” up.

Eltonstory

Sir Elton John hosted SNL this past weekend. He is a hilarious little man. :)This was his first guest host for SNL. It is also his chance to join such greats as Betty White, Justin Timberlake, and Tina Fey who have hosted SNL and won an Emmy for it. If he gets the nod, he will become the 11th person to complete the EGOT-Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

Tweet that made me laugh.

A new app called Creepy?

Creepy” is a new geo locator app that allows a person to pinpoint a person’s location just by typing in their Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, and/or Flickr user id and hitting the Geolocate Target button.

How is that bad you ask? You don’t tag your photos with names or locations you say? Well, what lot of people don’t realize is every time they share a picture on a social network using Flickr, Yfrog and Twitpic, these sites automatically record the location in the image’s EXIF data.  Creepy takes the next step of using the APIs to scan that data and display it on an easy-to-read map.

Some people will argue that the location of a single photo doesn’t reveal much about the user. But if you are an over eager beaver, sharing your life through a collage of photos, then your life becomes a clusters of location dots on Creepy that only requires someone to “connect those dots”.

Still in it’s early stages…”Creepy” is already starting to creep some people out.

Speaking of “creepy” I caught this via Babbling About Books, and More.
Learn to Play with The Breast Milk Baby

The Breast Milk Baby. According to the website…”God supports The Breast Milk Baby”. This creeps me out. Now, I don’t know about you, but teaching my 9 year old to breastfeed is NOT on my top 10 list of things to do. Childhood is just that, CHILDHOOD. Playing outside. Digging in the dirt. Catching fireflies and learning to climb trees. Not learning the correct way to breastfeed a child.

Why do we try and force our children into adulthood before they are ready? Having a baby is an adult decision that should be made by ADULTS. Showing a child how to “breastfeed” does not, in my opinion, even begin to teach a child anything about having or raising a child. I’ve seen many chats and forums where parents have stated that their child has already role played this scenario.

Really?

Sorry, but that’s just plain creepy.

I admit, I don't have as many body perception issues in my 30s as I did in my 20s, but seeing Candice Swanepoel in that bikini still gave me a HUGE feeling of inadequacy. I feel so stupid saying that out loud, but if I were that skinny I wouldn't mind. LOL Then I remember how much she has not eaten to get like that, and then I think... F--- thaaaaaat.
