Curves & Qs Blog Tour and Giveaway

Curves & Qs

I’m so excited to be part of Shiloh Walker’s blog tour celebrating the release of her last two book in her Ash Trilogy-If You See Her and If You Know Her.

Each participant in this tour was was allowed to ask one question about the trilogy.

My Question: Your endings to each Ash story were unconventional. Did you expect the extreme reaction to got to it?

Shiloh’s Answer: I figured I'd have some people disgruntled, yes.  The only reason this worked was because Ballantine was ready to give me release dates for all three titles so close together.  I knew going in that I'd be ending each story in a different sort of way and I was prepared for some…ah…interesting responses.  But I really couldn't have done it any other way, if I wanted to give the overall story my absolute best.

Excerpt:

From IF YOU KNOW HER

Nia's hand shook as she reached for her cell phone.

It took three tries to actually get her hands to cooperate long enough to call Bryson.  Before her cousin died, Bryson had been Joely's fiancé, and a casual friend of Nia's.  The two of them had tried to keep in touch for a while, both Nia and Bryson had finally realized their memories were too painful.

Needless to say, he wasn't pleased to have her on the phone.  “Nia…it's late.”

She glanced at the clock, winced when she saw it was past eleven.

“Sorry. This won't take long.  I just…ah, well.  I had a question.  Had Joely gotten her hair cut recently?”

“Her hair? What?”

“Yeah.  A hair cut.  Had she gotten it cut before she…ah..died?”

He sighed.  “No.  She hadn't.  She wanted it long for the wedding--something…” His voice half broke.  “Shit.  No.  I don't know what the hell this is about, but she hadn't gotten her fucking hair cut.”

“Okay.  Thank you.”

He hung up without saying another word.

Nia put her phone down and continued to stare at the report.  This didn't mean anything.   She waited for that rational voice to murmur an agreement, waited for that voice to tell her to dump this file, just like she had dumped so many others.

But for once, that voice was silent.

Completely and utterly silent.

What I really love about Shiloh's books is they're realistic. She doesn't give the sugar coating we often get in other reads. Thank you.

It shows how much faith the publisher has in your writing that they were willing to look at the series as a whole. Your writing is amazing though, so I get it:)

I've decided blogger blogs hate me. I have to keep reloading to get anything to show for my comments so I'm doing this all in one knock out... :)

    Sasha, nah, not too long.

Danielle, LOL. Well, I was hoping if people can handle cliff hangers on movies not too many would wanna hurt me over the books. ;)

    Thanks Viki... :)

Brenda, generally pubs will buy 2-3 books so they bought it as a series, anyway, but it was only doable this way because they would release them close. OTherwise, I would have been writing something very different...

Thanks for helping with the hop, Tori!

Great question! I love it when an author does the unexpected. That being said, I have been known to throw a book against the wall when I am frustrated by an ending.

I love this tour format of each blogger being able to ask one question. It seems like the participants ask really thoughtful questions...so as not to waste their one!
