WTH Wednesday…2 Rihanna/Chris Brown Remixes…say WHAAA?

The world is abuzz with the news of the two remixes that Rihanna and Chris Brown did together. Rihanna’s Birthday Cake features Chris Brown while Rihanna returns the favor in Chris Brown’s Turn Up the Music.

and

Fan are going insane over speculation on whether Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together or is this just a way to cash in on their highly publicized domestic abuse case. Comments ranging from “YEA team #RiBreezy” to “What a dumbarse RiRi is” are flooding the boards.

What bothers me about some of the comments is the number of people bashing Rihanna about her not being a proper role model for young girls or telling her she must have deserved the beating she got.

Whoa.

That’s a bit much don’t you think? One-No ones deserves to get abused. No one. Two-the public seem to put unrealistic expectations on public figures then berates them because they don’t live up to our expectations. Don’t depend on people you don’t know to be role models for yourself or your kids. It just leads to disappointment.

I think more people would feel better about all of this if Mr. Brown wasn’t so antagonistic in public. Many say he’s never apologized. Technically he did in a YouTube video (still don’t understand why he did that) but it was so bad and rehearsed that nit's hard to believe in his sincerity. We’ll never know how or if he apologized to Rihanna and it’s really none of our business.  Either way, it’s their lives, their choices, and we have no input into it. I only hope that Rihanna remembers that it’s okay to forgive but to never forget.

As for the songs, I’ve listened to both. Their ok. Birthday Cake is porn set to catchy music and Turn Up The Music has a nice beat but sounds dated.

I totally agree with you. It is none of our business if they are back together. CB does have anger issues and it's not helping his case (if he wants people to move on from it). The apology video was weak and contrived. But it's obvious that Rihanna has forgiven him. We don't know if what has transpired between them since the incident. She has obviously forgiven him. It's not up to us, the public, to offer him that forgiveness and technically, he doesn't owe "us" anything.

When I heard Birthday Cake, my first thought was, "where the stripper pole at?" And Turn Up The Music is just ok. Nothing special about it.

Marquetta W. Ha! "stripper pole". I've since stopped letting the kid listen to Rihanna. It's gotten a little too grown up for her.
