Things that caught my eye
Keeping it classy
I have always been a huge proponent of the old saying, “No glove…no love.” So when I saw these on Refinery29, not only did the advocate in me squeeee but so did the fashionista.
Yup, there’s an app for that too
Finding it hard to find a new way to show your Valentine some love? How about carving their name in a tree? Not a real tree silly. The iPhone tree. Treemail $.99 available at iTunes, lets you carve your love’s name into a virtual tree from anywhere.
Barney’s and Prada had a spat
WSJ reports that Barneys chief executive Mark Lee confirms that the store has dropped all new Prada merchandise except for menswear and shoes — meaning there'll be no Marc Jacobs stole at Barneys for you this spring.
The split came about because the Italian megabrand wanted Barneys to agree to a concession model, under which Prada would lease its floor space and give Barneys a percentage of sales. Lee, who says he wants to move Barneys toward "exclusives," said the decision had been made before he got there last August but he supports it. Barney’s gave Prada their leg up in the US when it introduced us, years ago, to those crazy nylon bags. /via The Cut.
Gisele Bundchen is an idiot
According to Ms Bundchen, sunscreen is an evil, poisonous substance that will never grace her body. Gisele claims she refuses to use the product because of all the chemicals they contain to absorb UVA and UVB light.
As a compromise, Bundchen claims she only exposes herself to the sun before 8am when it is still too weak to do any damage.
Ok. First of all, who the hell gets up, dressed, and out the door before 8 am? If they don’t have to? Second of all, no way she has that nice tan by hitting the beach before 8 am. She must be under the illusion that fake tans are all natural.
Lilo can’t catch a break
Lindsay Lohan will be charged with felony grand theft in the case of the missing necklace, according to NYP. The boutique from which it was allegedly stolen has surveillance video of Lohan trying on the necklace and paparazzi images of her wearing it without having purchased it. Lindsay claims the necklace was loaned to her by the boutique and that her stylist was responsible for returning it on time. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of three years in state prison.

No, it’s just some guy in a cape. Capes have always been a fashion essential for women but Fall 2011 is calling for capes to become mans bff too.
