As Lie The Dead picks up right where Three Days To Dead left off. Evangeline Stone (Evy) and Wyatt have survived the battle with the goblins and are trying make sense of all that happened. When Evy is approached by one of the last surviving Owlkins, Phineas (Phin), and asked to protect a pregnant Owlkin and her mate, she knows that this is not over by a long shot. Evy agrees because of the role she played in the Owlkins massacre. But Phin is not done with her. She soon finds out that he has approached the Supernatural Assembly and charged Rufus (a Handler in the Triad) with the murder of his clan members and seeks retribution. Evy cannot allow a friend and team member to be sacrificed for following orders so she makes a deal with Phin. Give her three days to being the true offenders to justice-her superiors. But that is easier said then done. 

As Phin and Evy submerge themselves in to the investigation; political intrigue & shadowy conspiracies reveal themselves, showing them that the game is much bigger then they ever suspected. And everyone is expendable. Evy is also dealing with an identity crisis, her feelings for Wyatt, and her anger towards her betrayal by the Triad.

Conall Dearghul, a dhampire (half werewolf, have vampire), has his own problems. Commanded by the were  council  to bring Sin in to face judgement, Con finds that everyday he spends with Sin he falls a little more for her. He has also been commanded by his vampire clan to return home and assume his place in the hierarchy.

But the unlikely pairing of these two of them works in such a way that we are held spell bound as we watch them battle their insecurities and stereo types to enter into an emotionally and intense sexual affair.

Todays review is Heart Journey by Robin D. Owens (Celta’s Heartmates #9) 

In Robin D. Owen's Heart Journey, we are shown the delicate courtship between a women who craves solitude and a man who needs the spotlight. Men are not allowed to "claim" their heartmate-it is the decision of the woman. In this case, a women who is well set in her ways and wants to claim her mate then head back to the frontier. Unfortunately, her heart mate is a well known rising actor who makes his living off being seen. He neither wants nor needs a heartmate in his life at this time.

Helena D'Elecampane (Del) has spent her life mapping the the unknown for the Great families of Druida. Winter’s Passage (Book 1.5 in the Iron Fey series) by Julie Kagawa Meghan Chase has saved her brother and returned home. But now she must honor her contract with Ash, the Winter Prince.

In The Iron King Meghan promised that she would accompany Ash to the Winter Court if he helped her find and recover her brother. When Ash comes for her she goes willingly but has a request. She wants to see Puck first.  As Meghan and Ash begin their journey, something dangerous hunts them. Something that has no intention of allowing Meghan go anywhere.
In this brief but enchanting novella, we are given a bridge between The Iron Kingand The Iron Daughter. Meghan and Ash have survived the Iron Court, killed the Iron King, and got Ethan back safe and sound. But the contract she made with Ash is binding so she prepares to follow her love into the Winter Court.

My review of The Wolf Next Door by Lydia Dare (Westfield Brothers #3) is up at Smexy books.

In this much anticipated story, we finally get to see what caused Lady Prisca and Lord William to despise each other. We caught glimpses of their animosity in A Certain Wolfish Charm and it left me wanting more.
Prisca despises William. She insults and provokes him every chance she gets. Having five brothers, she has learned to say exactly what she means. William avoids Prisca as best he can. He broke their engagement years ago without explanation. He still loves her but doesn't trust himself or his wolf around her. So he continues with is rogue ways making sure Prisca hears about his escapades. When Prisca's brother invite William to their estate he cannot believe what he finds. Another Lycan. In HIS territory.
