Songs I want to hear on the catwalk

 

With designers beginning to show their Spring 2013 fashions,  I started thinking about what songs I love to hear on the Spring catwalk.

 

Set Fire To The Rain
Adele’s deep sultry voice just begs to ripple down the runway in this introspective pop melody that speaks of drama and romance-exactly what the fashion designers lives for.

 

Summertime Sadness
The fashion world already has a major crush on the “gansta’ Nancy Sinatra” so it’s no surprise that her haunting medley of love gone wrong would be the perfect accompaniment to the melodramatic looks being offered for 2013.

UP and coming rapper-Azealia Banks-is already a main staple in Nicola Formichetti's Mugler show and caught the eyes and ears of fashion king-Karl Lagerfeld. This upbeat, futuristic rap bursts with enthusiasm and just begs to trip down the runway.

 

Spectrum (Calvin Harris Remix)
We all love Florence and the Machines. Welsh’s powerful vocals mixed with the dirty hip hop dance beat makes this song an instant must have on the runaway.

Has Coach finally bid adieu to the monogram look?

We can only hope. I have never made any bones about the fact that monogram bags especially in pastels, is tres tacky. (This of course doesn’t include my LV) It looks like Coach has finally listened.

The new look at Coach is focuses on classic and streamlined in bold elegant colors -leaving behind the tacky monogram look that has prevailed for the last 10 years.

The new leather bags, accessories, shoes, jewelry, eyewear, and outerwear mark a conscientious move forward, yet backward, as Coach tries to reclaim a more fashionable cliental by bringing back what first made them so popular.

While the silhouettes might be cleaner, the colors aren't: In bright oranges, purples, turquoises, and yellows, the new collection is definitely not your 2011 Coach camels, pastel pinks, or browns. The price-points have gotten an upgrade as well, with bags now selling between $178 to $1,000 and beyond.

Come DIY with Erica Domesek from PS I Made This

I love Erica Domesek and her blog PS I Made This. Here is her newest project that is not only tres chic but super easy to make. I’ve bought enough supplies to make at least 10 for me and the kid in all different colors.

Spring fever is in full effect.  Follow your heart with a headband as you step into the season with some extra sparkle and shine.  Mix luminous and rich materials with earthy textures for a match made in heaven.  Get inspired by crazy cool crystals from  SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS and springtime hues for a haute headband that’s to DIY for!

To create: Measure and cut SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS CUPCHAIN TRIM to fit the top of the headband.  Chain should cover all but the bottom inch of the headband. Cut 4 feet of colored raffia and  fold in half.  Secure chain to the headband by knotting raffia onto the end of the cup chain trim.  Begin wrapping from the bottom and continue all the way around securing chain. Use the cross-over method going over and under each crystal you wrap.  Knot off once you reach the end and snip off any remaining raffia.
