Favorite Quote:
“You’re ruining my moment, Alicia. You’re not big on romantic gestures, are you?”
“Sorry. It was very romantic. You should get naked now.”

Alicia Riley, sports medicine specialist has her work cut out for her when she goes up against star Rivers pitcher, Garrett Scott. Garrett hurt his arm pitching and so far, none of the therapy is helping him. When Alicia sits in on a meeting between Garrett and the rehab team, she bluntly tells Garrett that he needs to quit whining and start doing the required therapy, promising him that if he follows her program, he will pitch again.

There aren’t many who are willing to go head to head with Garrett Scott, so when the tiny beautiful Alicia not only goes for the jugular but spanks him the process, Garrett takes notice. He demands she handle his rehab from now on and soon they are working on more than just his rehabilitation. As the sexual tension rises to red alert between Alicia and Garrett, Alicia tries to keep things between them business only, but Garrett soon sweeps aside her reasons and they embark on a steamy affair.

When Garrett’s dreams of returning to pitching seems to take a dismal turn, can he and Alicia weather the storm or will Alicia’s fears of why you should never mix business and pleasure come true.

I’m reviewing Jaci Burton’s Playing To Win at Smexybooks

Playing to Win (Play by Play, #4)

Playing To Win (Play by Play #4) by Jaci Burton
Erotic Contemporary Romance
Released: September 4, 2012
Penguin

Favorite Quote: “He took her breath away.”

Talented wide receiver Cole Riley should have the world at his feet, but his antics on and off the field have made him a liability. His agent tells him to shape up or else he’s done. Image consultant Samantha Brooks has agreed to help Cole clean up his image but isn’t sure she can take the bad out of this aggressively sexy man. When the sparks start to fly, Sam lays down a few rules; hands off. But even Sam can’t help but respond to the sexual appeal Cole has, especially when he turns that gorgeous gaze on her. When Cole decides that he wants Sam in his life and bed, can she resist or will she play to win?

First off, once again, let us discuss Jaci Burton’s cover models. ZOMG! I know I’m not the only one who is staring at the strings on those pants, hoping they will magically start to unravel. Le sigh.

Playing To Win was, to me, a deviation from her last four books. The harder edges are distinctly softer, the romantic “conflict” more emotionally based, and there is none of the heavy external conflicts that came in to play with the previous installments, making it a little less enjoyable for me. Of course, we still have Burton’s requisite smoking hot male lead, sassy intelligent female, a solid plot, and some heavy, heavy smexing everywhere in between. I enjoyed the way this story reveals itself to you. It starts out with a VERY sexy masturbation scene and just goes uphill from there.

I’m reviewing Taking A Shot by Jaci Burton at Smexybooks

Taking a Shot (Play by Play, #3)

Taking A Shot (Play By Play#3) by Jaci Burton
Contemporary Romance
March 6, 2012
Berkley Trade

Favorite Quote: “Ugh. When had she become that woman?”

Taking A Shot is the third book in Jaci Burton’s hot and oh so steamy Play By Play series that revolves around the Riley family. Before I start this review, let’s take a minute to genuflect at the cover shall we? *happy sigh* Seriously, have you ever seen anything so beautifully lickable in your life?

Jenna Riley has grown up in a family dominated by sports. She has lived, breathed, and now works in the field, since a child. Since her father’s heart attack, she has taken over the reins to the family sport’s bar, Riley’s, giving up on her own dreams and ambitions. This has resulted in her one and only non breakable rule. She doesn’t date sports figures. Ever. This attitude both intrigues and challenges Tyler (Ty) Anderson. A star pro-hockey player, he has been attracted to Jenna since the first time they met. Unsure as to why she dislikes him so much, Ty keeps coming to the bar and trying to tempt Jenna into taking a chance with him.

Taking A Shot has all the trademarks of being a Jaci Burton book. Hot male lead, sassy intelligent female, a plausible plot, and some heavy, heavy smexying everywhere in between. I enjoyed the way this story reveals itself to you. It starts out slow as Ty bids his time trying to find away to break through Jenna’s shell. Ty spends plenty of time on the seduction of Jenna. The sexual heat and playfulness in this book make it a fun read

I’m reviewing Changing The Game by Jaci Burton at Smexy Books

Changing the Game (Play by Play, #2)

Favorite Quote: “I hardly qualify as every man’s dream Gavin. You said it yourself. I’m a pain in the ass.”

Sports agent Liz Darnell will do anything to win back her number-one client, baseball pro Gavin Riley. And Gavin's more than ready- especially when Liz is offering herself as part of the bargain. But when love unexpectedly enters the playing field, neither Liz nor Gavin are ready for the biggest game-changer of all. (Goodreads)

First off, let me say that Ms. Burton has some of the most delicious and lickable covers I have EVER seen. Changing The Game is the second book in Jaci Burton’s very hot and very sexy Play by Play series. Gavin Riley knows Elizabeth Darnell is a hard arse agent who went above and beyond her normal duties when she tried to interfere with his brother Mick’s relationship with his now wife and step son (The Perfect Play). Elizabeth paid the price for that one though. Mick fired her and she has lost other clients due to her unethical antics. Gavin knows she has been avoiding him because she is afraid he is going to fire her to. But Gavin has no urge to fire her. Gavin wants a more hands on relationship with his agent and he’s wondering just how far she will go to keep him as her client.

Things That Caught My Eye

H&M is producing a plus size line.
500x_handm_125inclusive_08
The good news? H&M will sell a  plus collection called Inclusive. There will be Spring  "figure-flattering party dresses in 50's styles with large polka dots and rose patterns" and they will come in a "wider than usual range of sizes" — UK sizes 32-54.

The bad news? The collection limited. So once it’s sold out-that’s it. It’s also only sold online and within European delivery zones. So US buyers-your SOL.

MTV reports that Lady Gaga is launching a new perfume to be called Monsters. Slated for release in 2012, rumor has it that she wants it to smell like “blood and semen.”
I’m all for a new fragrance but somehow smelling like I’ve been mattress dancing for 3 days isn’t quite the scent I’m going for.

My Review of Riding The Night by Jaci Burton is at Smexybooks

Todays review is Riding The Night by Jaci Burton

Favorite Quote: “Take it easy, Teresa. It was just an orgasm, not world peace.”

When AJ and Pax decide to stop by AJ’s hometown while on vacation, AJ never expects to run into his old high school flame,Teresa. Teresa was heartbroken when AJ left her but got on with her life and now owns a large profitable biker bar. But the feeling are still there between them, simmering hot just barely beneath the surface. While catching up at the bar, a fight breaks out between rival gangs leaving one man dead and Teresa’s brother accused of murder. With Teresa as the only eye witness and no proof to clear her brother’s name, the three of them head to the annul bike fest in South Dakota to find the real killer.

Teresa is confused and titillated to find she is equally attracted to both AJ and Pax. A past trauma in her life leaves her guarded and unable to trust men. When AJ and Pax discover her secret they vow to help her heal anyway they can. In their arms, Teresa slowly discovers a feast of sensual delights and raging passions that binds the three of them in it’s intensity. But when love enters the picture; can it hold them together? Or will it tear the three of them apart?

Jaci Burton’s Riding The Night is a veritable feast for the senses. Mystery, suspense, and sensual delights all blend together perfectly in a delish contemporary story.Teresa, Aj, and Pax are all strong, intelligent, yet vulnerable characters.

AJ and Pax are partners in the Wild Riders gang, an undercover agency that infiltrates biker gangs. Both of them had similar upbringings and personalities that bonds the two of them in friendship. When they realize that they both are attracted to the same woman, it takes their friendship to a new level and they begin to “share” woman in sexual ways. AJ and Pax have commitment issues and are all about the fun and games of their escapades-as long as their willing conquests realize that love will never enter the picture. When AJ’s ex girlfriend Teresa enters the picture, Pax is immediately taken with her and AJ feels stirrings for her from their past together. But Teresa is still recovering from a traumatic event and the thought of being with 2anyone scares her to death.
