Well, since you asked…

this is how we peel potatoes at our house

Potato_heart_mutation

T-Put the potatoes on.

Me-Okay.

T-8 minutes in the microwave. When it beeps, take them out, prick with fork, if their not done, flip and put back in for 2 minutes. Remember to put water in the bottom. You got all that?

Me-Oh, you mean like I’ve been doing for 13 years? Yes, I think I got it.

T-Okay *bounces out of house*

10 minutes later

T-Are the potatoes done?

Me-Yes, but they are hot so I’m letting them cool.

T-Jesus. They are harder to peel when cold. Come here and I’ll show you how to do it.

Me-*mumbling under breath* I don’t want to know how to peel those damn potatoes.

Me-*whining* You do it. They always burn my fingers.

T- You need to learn. What will you do when I’m not around?

Me-I won’t eat skinned potatoes?

T-*tries to give me THE look*

T-See, take the fork and rake it over them.

Me-Okay

T-Now flip them over and keep raking.

Me-Okay.

T-Move peelings to end of plate.

Me O.K.A.Y.

T- Now, you get one and try.

Me-I don’t like your tone, Mister.

T-See, rake the fork…

Me-Okay. I get it. Go away.

T-You’re doing a fine job.

Me-I DON’T NEED YOUR VALIDATION!!

Well, since you asked…love IS a battlefield

I have often said that the way to a strong marriage is to laugh long, hard, and often. Otherwise, you’ll be taking a hammer to their head every chance you get.

wheat-free-brownie-for-blog

Me: Where is it?

T: Where is what?

Me: The brownie that was on the counter.

T: What counter?

Me: The counter in the kitchen, fool.

T: I know of no brownie on the kitchen counter.

Me: Let me smell your breath.

T: Get away from me, freak.

Me: NO! I told you that brownie was mine! Now, open up and let me look.

T: *holding me back* No. Quit it. Stop squeezing my jaw.

Me: Where. Is. My. Brownie!!!!

T: I ate it, okay?? I ate it and freaking enjoyed it.

Me: I didn’t get a single brownie out of that pan I baked. WTH is wrong with you? Why do you always eat my food?

T: I’m bigger then you so I require more food.

Me: I’m killing you tonight.

A blast from the past…well since you asked…

I checked Dr. Hare’s list and I’m pretty sure your all safe.

I’m NOT a sociopath.

I can hear the sighs of relief.

Dr. Hare's Checklist (Sociopathic Traits)

1. GLIB and SUPERFICIAL CHARM -- the tendency to be smooth, engaging, charming, slick, and verbally facile. Sociopathic charm is not in the least shy, self-conscious, or afraid to say anything. A sociopath never gets tongue-tied. They have freed themselves from the social conventions about taking turns in talking, for example.

-See, right there proves I’m not. I’m so socially inept it’s not funny. Why do you all think I work from home. Not because of the pay.

2. GRANDIOSE SELF-WORTH -- a grossly inflated view of one's abilities and self-worth, self-assured, opinionated, cocky, a braggart. Sociopaths are arrogant people who believe they are superior human beings.

-Well, I have been told I'm arrogant but I like to think I’m just REALLY self assured.

3. NEED FOR STIMULATION or PRONENESS TO BOREDOM -- an excessive need for novel, thrilling, and exciting stimulation; taking chances and doing things that are risky. Sociopaths often have low self-discipline in carrying tasks through to completion because they get bored easily. They fail to work at the same job for any length of time, for example, or to finish tasks that they consider dull or routine.

-I’m dull. Really, really dull. Trust me. In the dictionary, there is a picture of me under the word dull.

4. PATHOLOGICAL LYING -- can be moderate or high; in moderate form, they will be shrewd, crafty, cunning, sly, and clever; in extreme form, they will be deceptive, deceitful, underhanded, unscrupulous, manipulative, and dishonest.

-Hmmm…I’m skipping this one.

5. CONNING AND MANIPULATIVENESS- the use of deceit and deception to cheat, con, or defraud others for personal gain; distinguished from Item #4 in the degree to which exploitation and callous ruthlessness is present, as reflected in a lack of concern for the feelings and suffering of one's victims.

-I am not a cunning person. Ask anyone. I’m pretty much an open book.

6. LACK OF REMORSE OR GUILT -- a lack of feelings or concern for the losses, pain, and suffering of victims; a tendency to be unconcerned, dispassionate, coldhearted, and un empathic. This item is usually demonstrated by a disdain for one's victims.

-I feel guilt when I pretend I’m not home when the Jehovah Witnesses come by.

7. SHALLOW AFFECT -- emotional poverty or a limited range or depth of feelings; interpersonal coldness in spite of signs of open gregariousness.

-I don’t care what my husband says, I am not shallow just because I want cash instead of gifts.

8. CALLOUSNESS and LACK OF EMPATHY -- a lack of feelings toward people in general; cold, contemptuous, inconsiderate, and tactless.

-I am a caring nurturing person. NURTURING I TELL YOU!!!

9. PARASITIC LIFESTYLE -- an intentional, manipulative, selfish, and exploitative financial dependence on others as reflected in a lack of motivation, low self-discipline, and inability to begin or complete responsibilities.

-I work 3 jobs. I think that says it all.

10. POOR BEHAVIORAL CONTROLS -- expressions of irritability, annoyance, impatience, threats, aggression, and verbal abuse; inadequate control of anger and temper; acting hastily.

-Only when someone asks, “Are you on the rag?”

11. PROMISCUOUS SEXUAL BEHAVIOR -- a variety of brief, superficial relations, numerous affairs, and an indiscriminate selection of sexual partners; the maintenance of several relationships at the same time; a history of attempts to sexually coerce others into sexual activity or taking great pride at discussing sexual exploits or conquests.

-I read erotica. Does that count?

12. EARLY BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS -- a variety of behaviors prior to age 13, including lying, theft, cheating, vandalism, bullying, sexual activity, fire-setting, glue-sniffing, alcohol use, and running away from home.

-I was an angel till I turned 16.

13. LACK OF REALISTIC, LONG-TERM GOALS -- an inability or persistent failure to develop and execute long-term plans and goals; a nomadic existence, aimless, lacking direction in life.

I’m a planner and a note maker. I have long term goals about my long term goals.

14. IMPULSIVITY -- the occurrence of behaviors that are unpremeditated and lack reflection or planning; inability to resist temptation, frustrations, and urges; a lack of deliberation without considering the consequences; foolhardy, rash, unpredictable, erratic, and reckless.

-The last impulsive act I did was…I can’t remember.

15. IRRESPONSIBILITY -- repeated failure to fulfill or honor obligations and commitments; such as not paying bills, defaulting on loans, performing sloppy work, being absent or late to work, failing to honor contractual agreements.

-I plead the 5th.

16. FAILURE TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR OWN ACTIONS -- a failure to accept responsibility for one's actions reflected in low conscientiousness, an absence of dutifulness, antagonistic manipulation, denial of responsibility, and an effort to manipulate others through this denial.

-I get blamed for stuff I didn’t even do.

17. MANY SHORT-TERM MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS -- a lack of commitment to a long-term relationship reflected in inconsistent, undependable, and unreliable commitments in life, including marital.

-It’s too much trouble to leave and re train someone.

18. JUVENILE DELINQUENCY -- behavior problems between the ages of 13-18; mostly behaviors that are crimes or clearly involve aspects of antagonism, exploitation, aggression, manipulation, or a callous, ruthless tough-mindedness.

-I was an angel till I was 16. That’s all I’m saying.

19. REVOCATION OF CONDITION RELEASE -- a revocation of probation or other conditional release due to technical violations, such as carelessness, low deliberation, or failing to appear.

-I don’t even know what this means.

20. CRIMINAL VERSATILITY -- a diversity of types of criminal offenses, regardless if the person has been arrested or convicted for them; taking great pride at getting away with crimes.

-Only in my dreams.  And I usually am wearing a latex black body suit. with 7 inch thigh boots and carry a whip. Meow.

Well, since you asked…T wants to “investigate”

book_him_dano

T: Hear that?

Me: Nope.

T: You don’t hear those sirens?

Me: Nope

T: The helicopters?

Me: Nope.

T: Are you deaf?

Me: What?

T: Fine. I’m going to go look.

Me: Why?

T: Because I want to know what’s going on.

Me: Your nosy.

T: No, I’m inquisitive.

Me: Nosy.

Me: Don’t you think that multiple sirens and helicopters are an indication you should stay INSIDE?

T: Nope.

*disappears in bedroom and reappears a few minutes later*

Me: Why are you dressed like Rambo?

T: I can’t investigate without the proper gear.

Me: Really? Don’t you think full camo and black paint are a bit much?

T: I can’t let the enemy see me.

Me: The enemy?

T: *whispers* The criminals.

Me: What is that sticking out of your back pocket? Is that the kid’s magnifying glass?

Me: Have you taken your meds today?

T: Aw, come on. I want to go investigate, collect evidence, solve a crime. Like CSI.

Me: You need to lay off the coffee and take that crap off before you get yourself arrested.

T: Ohhh, think they’ll let me sit up front and run the sirens?

Me: WHEN you get arrested for hindering a police investigation, do not call me. I don’t know you.

Well, since you asked…please stay out of my life

I’ve never been to the state of Virginia and after reading about the legislation being pushed over the last few days, that pretty much guarantees I won’t be visiting there anytime soon.

my-mind-my-body-my-choice

1.The State Senate passed legislation on Thursday allowing private adoption agencies to deny placements that conflict with their religious or moral beliefs, including opposition to homosexuality. The mostly party-line vote virtually ensures the Republican-backed bill will become law. The House has an identical bill, and Gov. Robert F. McDonnell says he will sign it.  If passed, Virginia would become the second state with such a law, which supporters modeled after a similar law in North Dakota.. Senator Jeffrey L. McWaters said his bill protected the religious rights of private child placement agencies, including dozens that contract with the state. Opponents say agencies that contract with the state should not be allowed to discriminate. Senator Adam Ebbin, the only openly gay member of the General Assembly, said the bill would endanger gay and bisexual children by letting agencies place them with parents opposed to homosexuality.

2. We also are seeing House Bill 1, which would grant individual rights to an embryo from the moment of conception, would be a step toward making all abortions illegal. On Tuesday, the House of Delegates passed the measure on a 66-32 vote. The bill provides that “unborn children” from the moment of conception until birth at every stage of biological development “enjoy all the rights, privileges, and immunities available to other persons, citizens, and residents of the Commonwealth, subject only to the laws and constitutions of Virginia and the United States, precedents of the United States Supreme Court, and provisions to the contrary in the statutes of the Commonwealth.” No state has passed such a law. HB 1, sponsored by Delegate Bob Marshall, R-Manassas, now heads to the Senate. If the personhood bill becomes law, it would essentially criminalize all abortions in Virginia.

I find it ironic that the Republicans, who are always screaming for the government to stay out of their personal lives, now want to have a say in mine.

Personal religious ideology has no place in the government. Contrary to popular belief, just because I support a women's right to choose doesn’t mean I am an advocate for abortion. It means I support the right of choice. I believe I have NO RIGHT to force my opinions, ideals, or ideology on anyone else. When you attempt to force your views on others then we are no longer a democracy. Remember Hitler? Mussolini?  Stalin? You may scoff, but those men had one thing in common. They believed their ideology was the only true path and destroyed the freedoms and lives of those who disagreed.

I’m disgusted and appalled by the fear mongering and open bigotry that is being embraced. We are pushing ourselves back into the 1950s where woman, homosexuals, and people of color “knew their place”. Are we to go back to hiding our lights under a bush, praying that the world will someday respect and acknowledge us? The all boys club is slowly encroaching on all our rights and we are just standing by, twiddling our thumbs, and hoping that someone will stop them. Well guys, looks like that someone will have to be us.

I don’t know about all of you, but I was granted the right to vote August 20, 1920 and I plan on thoroughly and loudly using that right come election time.

Well, since you asked…things we’d like to say to our kids but probably shouldn’t

ve038-1
Sponge Bob looks like a weenie. Can’t we take down that stupid poster and put up something cool-like this velvet Elvis?

Well, I sign your father’s name to all the holiday cards so people don’t know realize what an insensitive clod I married.

review-dentist
Yes, the Dentist is scary as hell.

Okay, the hamster wasn’t playing freeze tag when we found him this morning.

Loud farts are hilarious.

Sometimes I do have a favorite child and some days it’s not even a child who lives in this house.

I know I told you spitting was nasty but that kid was seriously asking for it. *high five*

I know your teacher told you everyone is equal, but your actually the funniest, smartest, most beautiful child in your class. In the whole school. Hell, in the whole wide world. (Actually, I do tell my child this) :)

Well, since you asked…only only 10,000 more of these and I’ll be rich.

About two years ago I was a plaintive in a lawsuit against a well known internet venue for misapplication of fees. While I didn’t expect a windfall, I certainly wasn’t expecting this:

 IMG_4998

That’s right. I got a huge whopping check for $4.07. Oh, whatever shall I spend my spoils of war on? Hmmm?

Lets’s see. For $4.07 I can buy:

-A little over 1 gallon of gas.

-A used book.

-A hamburger, fries, and a small coke at McDonalds.

-1/2 pack of stamps.

-2 school lunches for my kid.

-4 packs of bubble gum (but I may have to pony up for tax).

-3 things form the dollar store. (damn FL sales tax)

-4 movies form Redbo

-1 dog treat. Hey, my dog is freaking HUGE.

- A big bag of Lay’s jalapeno kettle chips

-One plastic protector sheet for one of my e readers.

-One nail done at my mani/pedi salon (this includes tip

-One bottle OPI polish.

What do YOU think I should buy with my whooping $4.07?

Well since you asked-T is a diamond in the rough

diamond-ring-huge-large-big-engagement

T:Hey, have you heard of this?

Me: Heard of what?

T: That commercial on tv.

Me: What commercial?

T: Lifegems

Me: What about it?

T: Did you know you are carbon based?

Me: Ummm, yes. I passed 8th grade science too you know.

T: Well Ms. Smarty Pants, what can you make from carbon?

Me: A mess?

T: Nope. Diamonds.

Me: And?

T: This website says they can take a cremated body and make a diamond out of it.

Me: wth?

T: I’m serious.

Me: So, I can have you cremated and get bling out it?

T: Well…yes, if you want to look at it that way.

Me: You mean I can get the diamond I’ve been wanting that your cheap arse won’t buy for me?

T: *silence* I am not cheap. I am thrifty.

Me: Dude, your cheap.

Me: *going to website* DUDE!!! I can have you made into any color diamond I want. Blue, green, yellow, red, chocolate, and clear.

ME: AND…your a big guy. You’d be at least 2 carats.

T: What is wrong with you?

Me: What?

T: You were not suppose to get this excited. Your suppose to say, “Your worth more then diamonds my love.

Me: But look. You can have rings, necklaces, and bracelets made.

T: Hello?

Me: What?

T: I’m waiting.

Me: For what?

T: For you to tell me I’m worth more then diamonds.

Me: *sigh* Your worth more then diamonds.

T: How about a little more enthusiasm next time.

I just want to add that this testimonial on Lifegem site cracked me up!

“He was perfect, yet certainly not flawless. I wouldn’t expect his LifeGem to be without flaws either.”

Well since you asked…what I have learned from watching Burn Notice

burn_notice5

I recently started watching the show Burn Notice. I find it to be a smarter, chic-er, better dressed version of MacGyver. In a nutshell, our protagonist Michael was a spy for the CIA. He got in someone’s way and was ‘burned’.

A burn notice is a spy term. Burn notices are issued by intelligence agencies to discredit agents who are considered to have become unreliable. When a spy is burned, their connection to the agency is organization is terminated, and they are left swaying in the wind.

Michael has no assets or friends in the network anymore. He made a deal that as long as he stays in Miami he is safe. He now hangs with his mom, his ex spy girlfriend Fiona, and Sam-a former narc with the FBI. He spends his time looking for the person who burned him and taking small investigative jobs to stay a float. Plus he drives a totally restored Barracuda. Cha CHING!

Since watching I have learned a few valuable skills that I’m not sure I’ll ever use but who knows…

I have learned:

1. How to make a bomb out of vodka, bubble gum, and a light bulb.

2. How to get myself un handcuffed from a chair.

3. The best was to contact surveillance is to eavesdrop.

4. If someone is coming after you, don’t run. Stop them from following you.

5. Driving like an idiot will reveal a tail quicker then a high speed chase.

6. You need 2 cell phones, not 1, to build a listening device.

7. When fighting against a large group-always take out the leader first.

8. When committing a robbery, wipe off everything. Even if it seems silly…WIPE IT OFF!

9.  Emergency vehicles can manipulate traffic signals.

10. Duct tape is the ultimate resource. You can do anything with it and it’s cheap.

Wanna check it out? It’s on USA Fridays at 10pm.

Well, since you asked…I’m a 41 year old tween

Am-I-Wearing-Pants-Self-Help-Chart
T-Why are you still in your pajamas?
Me-I’m not.
T-That’s what you wore to bed last night.
Me-Nuh uh.
T-Is that NOT the same t shirt?
Me-Yes, but I have a sweatshirt over it now. Hence, a new look.
T-Is that not the same pants?
Me-No. Those pants were orange. These are black.
T-So they are STILL pajama pants.
Me-No. *speaking slowly so he understands* They are yoga pants.
T-Yoga pants-pajama pants. Same thing.
Me-Uh…no. Yoga pants are about $40 more. Plus,I can wear them out of the house.
T-So, you can’t wear pajama pants out of the house but you can wear yoga pants that look like pajama pants out of the house?
Me- Exactly.
T-Why is that?
Me-Because only white trash wear pajama pants out of the house.
T-But those are pajamas.
Me-No. These are yoga pants.
T-But you wear them to bed.
Me-Yes, but then they are pajama pants. In the morning they become yoga pants.
T- Are those slippers?
Me-No. Those are fluffy ballet flats.
T-No. I definitely think those are slippers.
Me-These are slippers made to LOOK like ballet flats so I can wear them out of house.
T-So isn’t wearing slippers in public white trash-y?
Me-Only if they LOOK like slippers. If they LOOK like ballet flats then it’s ok.
T-Do you make up these rules as you go?
Me-No, these are well established rules.
T-So I can wear my pajama shorts outside because they look like shorts and not pajamas?
Me-Well you could but I wouldn’t.
T-Why?
Me-Because they have a hole in the crotch and that definitely looks white trash-y.

Well, since you asked….dear Jersey Shores…

My advice to those who neither asked for it nor want it.

Dear The Situation, Bad enough you got your arse beat for not keeping your mouth shut, your crying afterwards because you were “lonely” *sniff* and sniffing your baba just ruined whatever street cred you might have had. Pull up your big boy pants and suck it up.

6_situation

Dear Snooki, All I can tell you is that any man who calls you up and constantly tells you what an embarrassment you are is not worth dating. If you have to change who and what you are to make some one happy-that’s not love. Kick his arse to the curb girl, your famous. You need him like you need a larger chest.

Snooki

Dear Ronnie & Sammi, For the love of God…LET. IT. GO. You two are terrible for each other and watching your dramatic break ups has gone from entertaining to boring. I’d rather eat nails then listen to you two beat that dead horse AGAIN!

sammi-ronnie-fight-e1297437707159

Dear Deena, You truly kill me. Don’t change. Except for the flower in your hair. Change that.

244beach_shots1

Dear Pauly, One day you are gong to meet the girl of your dreams and karma will have her calling a cab to get rid of you. Just saying.

PaulyD

Dear J Woww, Amazingly enough, you are the most rational sane person in that house. May the force be with you.

nfw bebe inside 160210

Dear Vinny, I like you. I really do. But your going to have to catch an STD or hijack a police car if you want to keep running with these big boys. Your just too nice.

Well, since you asked…things I ponder

question-mark

Working from home affords me a lot of “alone” time. Sometimes too much alone time. Here are something's I ponder over during the day.

1. Why do shampoo bottles tell you to wash, rinse, and wash again? Do they not have faith in the cleaning power of their product?

2. Why is it when you talk to God your praying but if God talks to you your crazy?

3. Is there another word for synonym?

4. Why does my bank go ahead and push through a non sufficient fee charge when a simple glimpse shows them I’m broke?

5. If convenience stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?

6. Why do gas stations lock their bathrooms? Then attach the keys to blocks?

7. Why doesn’t glue stick to the inside of the bottle?

8. Why telemarketers only call during dinner time?

9. Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?
